Job Description
POSITION: LODGE COOKEMPLOYMENT INFORMATION
We are looking for responsible, energetic, person for a fast paced environment to be a part of our team. Looking for individuals who are looking for an adventure in an outdoor environment. Must enjoy working with people, and entertaining guests.
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: May thru Sept 2012
LOCATION: Lodge is located on a remote island outside of Juneau , Alaska .
HOUSING: Room and board is provided at lodge on remote island. Shared bathroom/shower facilities.
TRANSPORTATION: Round-trip airfare will be reimbursed at the end of employment contract.
LODGE prides itself on its family style operation and atmosphere. We have been in operation since 1988.
DUTIES:
*Prepare and Serve Meals for Lodge Guests (16) and Staff (11) per week.
*Meal Service: Buffet Breakfasts, Packed Lunches to take on boats, Dinners are full course sit down service
*Menu Development to include Lodge Favorites
*Inventory of Food & Non-Food Items/Storage
*Ordering, Stocking, Rotation of Food Products
*Budget & Price Control
*Cleaning/Maintenance of Kitchen Equipments, Utensils, Daily Guest & Staff Dishes, Grills, Refrigerators/Freezers, Kitchen Appliances, and Kitchen Walls.
*Dining Room Table Set-up
*Supervise Kitchen Staff
*Coordinate once a week town grocery and supply shopping
RESPONSIBILITY:
*Prepare Tasty, Nutritious and Attractive meals for Lodge Guests and Staff.
*Provide guests with a pleasant dining experience in the dining room and on the boat.
*Accommodate special diet requests (low sodium, non-fat, etc.)
*Oversee Kitchen organization & cleanliness
*Insure that meals are served on time and in a professional manner.
*Maintain professional appearance and attitude on and off the job while in the community
*Keep company operations and policies confidential
*Using good judgment in exercising company rules and policies
*Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
REQUIREMENTS:
*Cooking & Food Service Experience
*Subject to random drug screening
COMPENSATION:
*1st Year Positions: Salary starting at $1,700 DOE + tips.
*Room & Board
*Reimbursement of travel expense from point of hire, upon completion of contract
